Books Books Books!

I have always had a love for reading.  It has been something that I have gotten so much joy from ever since I was little. We have so many board books and I would have to say they are their go to toy.

Will reading to Penny even after he had just gotten hit by a car.
We have been reading to them since the day they came home from the hospital.  I think the first night we read I'll Love You Forever and Where the Wilds Things Are.  They are huge fans of Dr Suess.

They will spend hours looking at their books.  When they were younger they really liked the texture books.  They would pet the puppy and feel the rough straw in their books.

Now they are a little older and they are enjoying the learning books.  They love counting books and help mommy count by pointing to things.  They also like the rhyming book.  Penny has learned to point to her hair and nose from a bubble book we have.  They also like the word books that have a picture of an everyday object and what it is.  They can point to an item.  Like if you say, "Where is the banana?"  They will point to it.  It is really neat to watch them learn and figure things out.  I love the time I get to spend with them.

I have always loved books, so this is one of my love I am so happy I have been able to pass down.  I hope this is the start of a lifetime love of books.

Fall Morning Spent at the Park

This weekend Will and I finally got some much needed family time.  We headed to the park that is right by our house and played with the babies.  As I have made note of in You might have twins if.. playgrounds have become a slight source of terror for me with two little curious toddlers.  So we took full advantage of our morning with Daddy and went to the park.  They had so much fun just toddling around and checking out all the equipment.  They got to go down the slide till their hearts content.  It did my heart good to see them do this.  It is something so simple and they just loved it.  It just reminds me of how blessed I am with this little family I have.  It really is about the simple joys... like playing at the park.

Just a little reminder I am accepting sponsors and would love to work with you.  Check out how in contact me.

Hello! My name is Randalin and this is my blog.

My partner, Kris, and I have been together since 2005.
In 2010 I gave birth to our son, Kale.

By day, I work in research and planning, Kris works as an electrician, and Kale does his own version of work at a Montessori school.

By night, we are a tight little crew of three - cooking and eating, riding our bikes, taking walks, reading books, and more often than not, chasing the little one and trying desperately to maintain our sanity.

Meet Bethany and her Beautiful Family

Bethany at Happy Homemaker Me was one of the first bloggy friends I made.  She was one of the first blogs I started following and she was one of the first to start following mine.  She has always been an inspiration to me, so I am thrilled she is sponsoring me this month.

She has a great blog, you should definitely check her out and click around.  I promise you will find great blogs.  Here are just a few of my favorite of her posts.

Kayleigh at the beach

This post has adorable pictures of Bethany's daughter Kayleigh.  She is super cute and has an amazing smile.  Being a mom myself, I have a soft spot for cute baby pictures.

Garlic Rosemary Chicken

I tried this recipe out the other night.  It was delicious!  I am always looking for a good crock pot recipe.  It is a great way to cook when you are busy with kids all day.  Check it out and give it a try!

Jello Playdough

I haven't made this one yet, but it is definitely on my to-do list.  I think the babies would have so much fun with this one.

Kayleigh's first trip to the zoo

I don't know about you but I really do love reading about other people's everyday life.  I feel like that is what breeds the sense of community I love about blogging.  Bethany shares glimpses into her everyday life and that is one of my favorite things about her blog.  I love getting to know other mommies and their families.  I can make being a stay at home mom less lonely.  At least that is the way I look at it.

Pinterest Party!

Pinterest Party!

Another great part of Happy Homemaker Me is her monthly pinterest party.  Let's face it, aren't we all a little obsessed with pinterest?  I know I have found some great recipes and great activities there.  In October I will be co-hosting with her.  You should definitely stop by and link up and share you favorite pins!

You can also follow her on Facebook or Pinterest.

So swing on over there and check it out!  I'm sure you will love what you see at Happy Homemaker Me

Things I actually say while changing diapers

I have discovered with twins one of the hardest things I have to do it change poopy diapers.  I also realized some of the things that come out of my mouth when I am changing them are crazy!  So over the past couple of days I have made a list of things I say while changing diapers.

We don't touch poop!
Please do not step on your brothers head.
Do not open that diaper!
Get the diaper out of your mouth!
Please don't spit on your brother.
Get your hands out of your sister's mouth.
and
We don't touch poop!  (a few more times)

We all say crazy things as a mother.  Drop by Growing up Geeky and share them!
