One thing I know whole heartedly is my husband works too much! While he's a grad student this is just a phase of life we have to deal with. So we don't always eat dinner as a family. This has been happening a lot lately. I always make good meals when Will comes home, but when it's just me and the babes I usually make them something quick and grab myself something once they are down for the night. But since this has been happening so much I can only feed them grilled cheese or scrambled eggs so many times before I start feeling guilty.
So I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out fun new things to feel them on nights Will is away. I got this idea from a couple different places on pintrest and I just kind of put my own twist on it.
Corn Dog Muffins
I just put cut up pieces of hot dog into corn bread muffins.
They ate them up! They were super easy to make and even though it wasn't a fancy dinner I felt like I still made them something.
What are your go to super easy meals?
Yum! I swear I put everything in a muffin form these days for my son!
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see what else people suggest. I have a hard time coming up with meal ideas for Biolet. One thing she loves is English muffin pizzas.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! The girls eat at 5:30 still so until we move it to later we don't all eat together. They eat and then after they go to bed we eat...I am always looking for ideas for them!
ReplyDeleteI made the corn dog muffins not too long ago and they were really yummy! I love doing pizza roll ups. Half of a moz cheese stick, a few pepperoni, wrap it up in a crescent roll, bake for however long the crescents say and then dip in marinara.
ReplyDeleteThis is genius...I'll have to try this out!

This is a good idea! My kids have been very difficult lately and sometimes, they eat only what they want to eat--thankfully, muffins are on their list. Thanks for this amazing idea. Will definitely try this out! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this idea for toddler dinners! My daughter is super picky, but she loves bread so I think she would like these. I'm trying to add in more protein to her diet, so the hot dogs are perfect. My hubby is a CPA so right now is his "busy" season and he doesn't get home until 7 or later. Needless to say our dinners consist of chicken nuggets and pasta most nights!
ReplyDeleteWe love Corn Dog muffins in our house. Even my picky eater likes them.
ReplyDeletelove this so going to try and make this tomorrow for my little one woot
