Our Night Alone!

Last night my mom had the babies and Will and I got some much needed alone time to celebrate our anniversary.

Sometimes it is able to lose each other in the day to day hustle of life.  Taking care of the kids and working crazy hours and getting caught up in all that and forgetting to slow down and appreciate each other.  It is so important.  So that is what we did!

I made a yummy dinner!  Chicken Supremes, Paprika Potatoes, and Garlic Green Beans.  Yum!

Delicious dinner and beautiful flowers!
Also we exchanged our presents.  I got a new camera!  I'm super excited because mine doesn't turn on all the time and it takes pictures really slow, not great for trying to catch cute toddler moments.

I was so excited to get Will his present.

I bought him The Avengers to watch for our home date night and made a yummy dinner.
Then I wrapped 11 other movies that we already own.  Ones he is always trying to get me to watch but am never in the mood for, some of his favorite guy movies I can't stand, and some movies that mean something to our relationship.  I have planned out one of his favorite meals to go with every movie and I filled out a note card with a clue to what the movie is.  I labeled them all for each month.
So basically I have set up and entire year of cheap date nights!  I'm so excited!  It will be a little something for us to look forward to every month.  I get to know and anticipate, and he gets to be surprised every month.
Second Month Chili and Blazing Saddles

All in all I am so excited for this year's anniversary.  It makes up for the fact that we both forgot it last year, but hey trying to take care of two infant twins I was lucky to remember my own name.'

I look forward to sharing our date night with you every month.

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband!

Today we have been married for 3 years.  I can't believe it.  It is one of those things where it doesn't seem possible, but in the same breathe it feels like we've been together for a life time.

We started dating 5 and 1/2 years ago.  We were both getting our second degrees in cities about 2 hours away, but we made it work.

We were married October 24, 2009.  It was perfect!  It was my dream wedding to my dream man!

The following year we celebrated our first Anniversary with a great little trip.  I love that my anniversary is the weekend before Halloween it makes for great travels.  Little did we know this would be one of our only get aways.  Weeks later I became pregnant with my two little bundles of joy.

Honestly last year.... We both forgot our anniversary.  Life was just to busy trying to manage 3 month old twins and a PhD program.  I look back on those days and wonder how me made it.

This year, this is what we deal with.  Life has gotten so much easier.  Although we are not together today, this weekend my mom is watching the babies and Will and I are going to get some much needed time together.  I do have something special up my sleeve, so stay tuned.  I can't post about it yet and spoil his surprise.

I got him a year of dates!  Check out our night and his gift HERE!

TAT My Toddlers and Their latest Dance Craze!

If there is one things both of my babies like to do, it is shake their cute little baby tushies!

They have been bopping to music since about six months.  They will dance to anything.  They will dance to their toys, cd, tv shows, even just mommy singing.  They just move to the beat.

They have a couple signature moves.  Penny likes to bounce, and I tell you she bounces to low any work out program would consider it a full squat.  She always twirls in circles swinging her arms.  She is also starting to just shake her little baby booty back and forth.

Ben just does your average male sway to the music.

Here we are having a dance party with our friends!

Toddler Activity: Pretend Cooking with Cotton Balls

I love playing with my babies.  I love even more when the play is something that helps them learn.  The toddler activity we did today was pretend cooking with cotton balls.  It is so simple and they had so much fun doing it.

Basically you get some bowls and spoons and cups and lots of cotton balls.  They can scoop and stir and sort and all those fun toddlery things.

This activity kept them busy for about 30 minutes, which is hours in toddler time!  Penny stayed very entertained by it the whole time.

Ben walked around and pick up the cotton balls and banged spoons and stacked cups.  He wasn't quite as into it as Penny, but he was still very entertained by it.

Penny Loved it!!  We will definitely do this again!

Overall this was a great activity.  I love treating household objects as new toys.  It is cheap fun and Ben and Penny love it!  You should give this activity a go, if my babies are anything like yours, they will love it!
