Our New Family New Years Eve Tradition

Follow my blog with Bloglovin  Gone are the days of getting all glammed up and hitting the town.  Gone are the days of having way too much to drink and wondering who you will kiss at midnight.  Gone are the days of parties and and staying out all night.  I know I should be sad about this.... but I'm not!

This New Year's Eve we are starting a new family tradition.  I know the babies are still too young to participate and stay up till midnight but it's fun to go ahead and start traditions anyway.

We are going to stay up and watch the ball drop, have a family game night and eat appetizers for dinner.  I know it sounds boring, but to me it sounds so perfect.

One the menu spinach balls, potato skins, buffalo chicken dip and meatballs.  We are gonna play a little scrabble and maybe some Farkle.  Before 7 O'clock maybe we'll put some puzzles together and build some blocks.  Ya know... whatever we can play with 18 month olds.

Anyway I hope you all have a safe and fun New Years!  Best Wish!

December Date Night

For our anniversary, I got Will a years worth of date nights.  What I did was I wrapped 12 dvds we already owned, but they were ones I either never wanted to watch or movies that hold a special meaning for us.  December will be our 3rd date night

The movie to night is Return of the Jedi.  That is Will's favorite Star Wars.  Will always jokes that the moment he knew he loved me was when I said I was more of an Empire Strikes Back girl myself.  Star Wars was the theme of our first Valentine's Day together and I have given him something Star Wars related for all of our Christmas's together.  So this movie had to go into the mix.

For dinner I made German Stew.  This has been one of out favorite meals for awhile.  It was one of the first meals I started making when I started cooking in college.  It is basically a stew with beef, carrots, apples and red wine.  It was a good night.  Always nice to enjoy each others company.  We still have 9 date nights left this year! :)

A Year in Blogs 2012

Blogging is something I really got into this year.  It has giving me an outlet for so many things.  I have met people, been comforted by stories from other bloggers, found fellow mothers of twins, and been able to share pictures with family and friends.  This year has definitely got me into this blog world, and I'm so glad it did.

Here are some of my favorite blog posts from 2012

A Year in Pictures 2012

This time of year always seems to bring about reflections on the past year.  Things we could have changed.  Things we will change in the year to come.  Special moments we had and memories we made.  Having babies has made those reflections a little bittersweet.  It just reminds you time in going so fast and babies grow up so fast, but it also excites you about the future and what is going to come.

Looking back at pictures reminds me how far we have come this year.

A Merry Little Christmas

Our family's Christmas had it all.  We saw family, ate delicious food, opening wonderful presents, but most of all we got to see the special twinkle in the babies eyes that only Christmas can bring.  Being almost 18 months they are not fully aware of everything yet, but they really enjoyed things this year.  They loved playing with the nativity.  When you ask them what Santa says you get a "HOHO" in response.  They definitely got the hang of opening up presents.  Having babies definitely makes the holiday season very special.

On Christmas Eve they got to open up their Christmas PJ's.  Then we put them to bed and Will and I got everything ready for the morning.  I have to say, I haven't been this excited about Christmas morning since I was a little kid.  I was so excited to get them up and watch them unwrap presents.

Penny just had to sit and look at it for a minute.  She loved her new baby and especially her new chair.

It was so special spending Christmas morning opening presents and playing with new toys.

They are growing up so fast!  I mean look at Penny.  My babies are not babies anymore.

Now what am I going to do with all these toys?
Ben doesn't care what I do with them.  He's just happy to play with them and have a special day.
